Launceston (c-eniconˈlɒnsəstən, often mispronounced c-enˈlɔːnsəstən) is a city in the north of the state of Tasmania, Australia at the juncture of the North Esk, South Esk, and Tamar rivers. Launceston is the second largest city in Tasmania after the state capital Hobart. With a population (greater urban and statistical sub division) of 103,325, Launceston is the ninth largest non-capital city in Australia. Settled by Europeans in March 1806, Launceston is one of Australia's oldest cities and is home to many historic buildings. Like many Australian places, it was named after a town in the United Kingdom - in this case, Launceston, Cornwall.

Launceston has also been home to several firsts such as the first use of anesthetic in the Southern Hemisphere, the first Australian city to have underground sewers and the first Australian city to be lit by hydroelectricity. The city has a cool temperate climate with four distinct seasons.

Unemployment was a serious problem in Launceston (Around 12%) in 1991 with a lot of young people hanging out in the Launceston Mall.

This video is an incredibly fast tour of inner Launceston. For those of you who don't know, Launceston is a city in the state of Tasmania, Australia. The song is called "The Ecstasy of Gold", written by Enio Moricone and performed by Metallica. A very special thanks goes to my amazing partner Joshua for his contribution to this film. No infringements were intended as this film is for artistic purposes and not for personal profit or gain.

This is a short film I had completed in the Object-Based Modelling elective class at the School of Architecture in the University of Tasmania in Launceston, Australia. The basic story is the son of a former student comes to the School of Architecture, now in ruins, in 2077 after a war against the Japanese. Much of the history of the region was lost in the war, and institutions like the School of Architecture that could help rebuild the history are left abandonned. A person currently residing in the ruins, meets the son of the former student and takes him on a 'journey' concerning the history of architecture. All models are done by myself in C4D and Lightwave 8, and the music and the story are loosely based on the Sacred Icon Stage of Halo 2. Due to time constraints I was not able to get the alpha channel working as well as I'd hoped, but it was not absolutely crucial to the project. Special thanks to Chris Rossetto, Martin O'Donnell (music, Joseph Staten (partial story), Justin Beall (teacher) and Mark Williams. Thanks alot..
