Huntingdonshire Video

Hemingford Abbots, Huntingdonshire, UK April 11th. 2007. Hemingford Abbots website: www.hemingfordabbots.org.ukVideo postcards in this series include Barrowby, Denton, Little Ponton, Antons Gowt nr. Boston, Crowland, Wimbledon, Wimbledon Common, London, London Eye, Albert Bridge, Belvoir Castle, Harlaxton, Harlaxton Manor, Hemmingford Abbots, Belton nr. Grantham, Grantham market place, Woolsthorpe by Belvoir, Londonthorpe, Londonthorpe Wood, Honington, Epping Forest, Woodnook Valley, Walcot nr. Folkingham and Sleaford, Stoke Rochford, Stroxton, Harlow, Peakirk, Clipsham. Camcorder: JVC GR-D270EK, mini DV. Edited in Ulead VideoStudio 10. Uploaded as 640x480 wmv best quality. This camcorder gives reasonably good colour results in strong sunlight. Anything less than this, the colour tends to be washed-out. The waterside shot shows this - the red tulips were as rich as the YouTube progress bar at the bottom of the screen. Moving or out-of-focus objects show definite blueing around edges. A good-buy 'snapshot' camcorder in it's range, but not one to buy if you want quality results. Video editing suites can increase saturation, but will drastically reduce quality and increase pixelation with JVC GR-D270/290 movies.

As part of the 40th birthday celebrations (The Big 4-0), the Intermediate Concert Band play Sousa's The March King. This took place at 08:00 am during the Twilight 2 slot (40 hours continuous music over the weekend). The music school has around 400 folks ranging in age from 4 to 84 years old - all children at heart! It manages with no help from national or local government (shame :-( ). Anyone & everyone is welcome to come and have fun! See www.humsa.org.uk
