Electric folk is the name given to the form of folk rock pioneered in England from the late 1960s, and most significant in the 1970s, which then was taken up and developed in the surrounding Celtic cultures of Brittany, Ireland, Scotland, Wales and the Isle of Man, to produce Celtic rock and its derivatives. It has also been influential in those parts of the world with close cultural connections to Britain and gave rise to the genre of folk punk. By the 1980s the genre was in steep decline in popularity, but has survived and revived in significance, partly merging with the rock music and folk music cultures from which it originated. Although in Britain the term folk rock is often used synonymously with electric folk, commentators have returned to this term as a means of distinguishing this as a clear and distinct category within the wider folk rock genre.

The Track "From Heaven to Dust" is taken from Azam Ali's fantastic second solo Album "Elysium For The Brave" (2006). Listen and enjoy it. "The leaves tell of the flower's death of the hours spent in this graveyard no one tending to its pain no one tending to its shame Your eyes tell of a star's death its house drained of old memories of night holding within its claim the light pending to pay the debt." Azam Ali's first album, "Portals Of Grace", was such a stunning piece of multicultural lyricism that it quickly established the singer as a major new star of world music. For this follow-up, Ali's had four years to both hone her poetic lyrics and expand on the breadth of musical influences. The result is an intoxicating collection of songs that blend rock, Middle Eastern folk music, and chill-out trance, made all the more exotic and celestial by the presence of Ali's rich vocals. About Azam Ali: "One of today's most astounding voices" Azam Ali's voice is a glorious, unforgettable instrument which will set a thousand minarets spinning with its sensuous, rich pulchritude. Her velvet vocals convey both sensuality and devotional ecstasy. She has become one of the best-love vocalist on world music scene. Musicians: Azam Ali (vocals, hammer dulcimer, frame drum, zills) Loga Ramin Torkian (guitar, electric guitar, violin) Pat Mastelotto (drums, tom tom) Carmen Rizzo (keyboards, synthesizer, programming) Trey Gunn (guitar) Satnam Ramgotra (tabla) Tyler Bates (acoustic guitar ...

PLEASE READ DESCRIPTION! and WATCH IN HD! Well, I think almost every guy knows the feeling we get when there's a girl who drives us crazy, and Keith Urban was clever enough to write a song about it. Even though I've only started listening to country in the last few years (being more of a jazz enthusiast myself), I realized how much I like Keith's songwriting, and how relatable his songs are, which is really common in country and folk music. So when I first heard this song last summer, I knew it would be a song I'd like to record somehow, and so I finally did it. This took me a solid week of steady work (over 50 hours) to transcribe, record, mix and edit. And I tried to get it to sound as much like the original as possible (apart from a guitar solo I added and some altered horn arrangements). This is probably my best sounding work, although there aren't any really virtuosic elements to this song, I think the orchestration blends really well as a whole and all the separate elements come together so I'm very proud to present this on youtube, and I hope one day Keith himself sees it. I'd encourage you to compare my version to Keith's (link here: www.youtube.com ) And yes, I am playing all those instruments that you see, however some better than others haha. There are a couple spots where I "punched in" to fix mistakes afterwards. You can download the mp3 for Free here! www.filedropper.com If you like what you see, PLEASE pass this on by sharing with family and friends and ...

Version with rare Neil Young Haunting screaming Electric Guitar overdubs. Neil Young is one of rock and roll's greatest songwriters and performers. In a career that extends back to his mid-Sixties roots as a coffeehouse folkie in his native Canada, this principled and unpredictable maverick has pursued an often winding course across the rock and roll landscape. He's been a cult hero, a chart-topping rock star, and all things in-between, remaining true to his restless muse all the while. At various times, Young has delved into folk, country, garage-rock and grunge. His biggest album, Harvest (1972) , apotheosized the laid-back singer/songwriter genre he helped invent. By contrast, Rust Never Sleeps (1979), Young's second-best seller, was a loud, brawling masterpiece whose title track, an homage to Johnny Rotten of the Sex Pistols, contained the oft-quoted line "Better to burn out than it is to rust." Several of his more modest-selling titles - for example, Tonight's the Night, Comes a Time and Trans - contain some of his most trenchant performances. It is typical of Young that he followed his most polished and popular album, Harvest, with one of his most raw and uncommercial, Time Fades Away. While he's avoided sticking to one style for very long, the unifying factors throughout Young's peripatetic musical journey have been his unmistakable voice, his raw and expressive guitar playing, and his consummate songwriting skill. In the early 1960s the Canadian-born Young ...

Neil Percival Young[1] OM (born November 12, 1945, Toronto, Ontario) is a Canadian singer-songwriter, guitarist, pianist, and film director. Young's work is characterized by deeply personal lyrics, distinctive guitar work, and signature nasal tenor (and frequently alto) singing voice. Although he accompanies himself on several different instruments—including piano and harmonica—his style of hammer-on acoustic guitar and often idiosyncratic soloing on electric guitar are the linchpins of a sometimes ragged, sometimes polished sound. Although Young has experimented widely with differing music styles, including swing, jazz, rockabilly, blues, and electronic music throughout a varied career, his best known work usually falls into either of two distinct styles: folk-esque acoustic rock (as heard in songs such as "Heart of Gold" _______________________________________ Set mostley to Telegraph avenue Berzerkeley California photographs and video shots.
