The Katholieke Universiteit Leuven (in short K.U.Leuven) is a Dutch-speaking university in Flanders, Belgium.

It is located at the centre of the historic town of Leuven, and is a prominent part of the city, home to the university since 1425. The Catholic University of Leuven, Belgium's oldest university, split into the K.U.Leuven and the French-language Université catholique de Louvain, which moved to Louvain-la-Neuve in Wallonia. Throughout its long history dating back to the 15th century, 'Louvain', as it was often known, has always been a major contributor to the development of Catholic theology.

With 36,923 students in 2009 � 2010, the K.U. Leuven is the largest university in Belgium and the Low Countries. The Katholieke Universiteit Leuven also has a campus at Kortrijk, formerly known as Katholieke Universiteit Leuven Afdeling Kortrijk (KULAK). The university now also offers several programs in English.

The video shows the case of a robotic manipulator carrying out a writing task whereby the path data is generated on-line by human demonstration. The human demonstrator writes Optec (acronym for Optimization in Engineering Center, homes.esat.kuleuven.be ) on the tablet, while the motion of the robot along the path is optimized on-line using a recursive log-barrier based solution method and executed almost simultaneously. D'après les estimations de la police, plus de 300 personnes ont défilé dans ses rues pour demander l'abolition des tests sur primates, en Belgique.
