KTVU, virtual channel 2 (digital channel 44), is the Fox-affiliated television station serving the San Francisco Bay Area. Licensed to Oakland, California, the station has been owned by Atlanta-based Cox Enterprises since 1964, making it the largest Fox affiliate by market size that is not owned and operated by the network. KTVU's studio facilities are located in Oakland at Jack London Square, and its transmitter is located at Sutro Tower in San Francisco.

In the few areas of the western United States where viewers cannot receive Fox programs over-the-air, KTVU is available to Dish Network customers as part of All American Direct's distant network package.
