Derby County Football Club is an English football based in Derby. the club play in the Football League Championship and is notable as being one of the twelve founder members of the Football League in 1888 and is, therefore, one of only ten clubs to have competed in every season of the English football league. they are managed by Nigel Clough, with Shaun Barker serving as club captain.

The club was founded in 1884, by William Morley, as an offshoot of Derbyshire County Cricket Club and has spent all but four seasons in the top two divisions of the English football league. The club's competitive peak came in the 1970s when it had two spells as English League Champions and competed in major European competition on four separate occasions, reaching the European Cup semi-finals, as well as winning several minor trophies. The club was also a strong force in the interwar years of the football league and won the 1945-46 FA Cup.

The club adopted its now traditional black and white club colours in the 1890s and appropriated its club nickname The Rams, a tribute to its links with The First Regiment of Derby Militia, which took a ram as its mascot and the song "The Derby Ram" as its regimental song, at the same time. it played its home games at the Pride Park Stadium, located in Pride Park, Derby, where it moved in 1997.

After both teams drew a blank from 90 minutes of tense action on Wednesday night, with Arsenal missing some decent chances, Derby's Kane Richards scored in the first half of extra-time to settle the game. Leicester City made it through to the next round of The FA Youth Cup more comfortably by smashing Aldershot for five in their Third Round tie. In a completely one-sided game, Leicester's two strikers, Tom Hopper and Harry Panayiotou both scored twice, whilst Matt Robinson completed the 5-0 rout of the League Two team. Chelsea also went through to the next round after beating Doncaster Rovers 2-1 at home, after going behind to a shock early goal. Rovers' Liam Wakefield escaped his marker and caught Chelsea sleeping from a set- piece to head into the net unmarked. John Swift equalised for the Blues, and Lucas Piazon got the winner with 18 minutes left on the clock. Extra-time was needed to separate Hull and Brentford. After a goalless 90 minutes, Brentford scored twice in four minutes to beat Hull 2-1. The Brentford goals came from Myles Hippolyte and Charlie Adams and that proved too much for ...

Alan Partridge soundclip put to Burnley goals, just for fun. I know it's not original, there are some other ones knocking around on the net that have been made by fans of other teams but I felt it was time for one of the Clarets! Jack Barmby took his goal tally into double figures for the season with both strikes in a hard-earned 2-1 triumph against Derby County in the FA Youth Cup. The Rams, who won at Arsenal in the previous round, went ahead in the first half but Barmby turned things around with a perfectly-placed shot and an 80th-minute penalty that was contested by the visitors, to see the holders safely through. Paul McGuinness handed defender Nicolas Ioannou a full debut with Gyliano van Velzen deployed as a lone attacker. After a scrappy opening, Charni Ekangamene could only produce a wayward shot after a thrilling run by Barmby, who tricked his way past three opponents down the left. Moments after Luke McCullough was fortunate not to concede a penalty, justice was perhaps done when the offside flag stayed down after a Will Hughes ball into the box and Kane Richards was allowed to turn and lash home with his left foot. Only a brave stop by Liam Jacob thwarted Mason Bennett seconds later but the Reds regained some composure with Adnan Januzaj combining with Mats Daehli to force Mats Morch to pat away and the Norwegian keeper comfortably fielded a tame shot by van Velzen. Jacob saved well from Joshua Lelan and Bennett while a double shout for handball against Ioannou and Tyler Blacket inside the box was survived. However, United carved out chances too with Morch clutching a Daehli cross-cum-shot and van Velzen unable to convert a Blackett cross.
