The Southern Football League Premier Division is a football league covering central and south western England. Since the 2004-05 season, it has been at step 3 of the National League System, and the 7th tier overall in the English football league system. The league was sponsored by British Gas, and also known as the BGB league (British Gas Business), but in 2009 the League was sponsored by Zamaretto and is known as the Zamaretto Southern League Premier Division.

As the top level of the Southern Football League, the division is at the same level as the Northern Premier League Premier Division and the Isthmian League Premier Division. At the end of each season, the winners of the Premier Division are promoted to either Conference North or Conference South (depending on their geographical position in the country), together with the winners of a series of playoffs between the 2nd to 5th placed teams. The bottom 4 clubs are relegated to step 4, to either the Southern Football League Division One South & West or Division One Central.
