The M1903 Springfield, formally the United States Rifle, Caliber .30-06, Model 1903, is an American clip-fed, 5-shot, bolt-action service rifle used primarily during the first half of the 20th century.

It was officially adopted as a United States military bolt-action rifle on June 21, 1905, and saw service in World War I. It was officially replaced as the standard infantry rifle by the faster-firing, semi-automatic 8 round M1 Garand, starting in 1937. However, the M1903 Springfield remained in service as a standard issue infantry rifle during World War II, since the U.S. entered the war without sufficient M1 rifles to arm all troops. It also remained in service as a sniper rifle during World War II, Korean War and even in the early stages of the Vietnam War. It remains popular as a civilian firearm, historical collector's piece and as a military drill rifle.

Me going nuts with the M1903- one guy cops one between the shoulders and faceplants, one cops a no-scope in the groin! Not bad for about 5 frames a second at 640x480 on a PC officially known as "the shitbox"... Text added by a friend.

Homemade Springfield 1903 Replica Rifle. This varient of the M1903's is the WWI model and the one used by the Marines in early WWII before being replaced by the M1 Garand. This rifle is 100% made by me. The shell ejection is a very simple design i made myself, but i was inspired by p90mann. If there was any thing i missed in the video that i didnt thuraly explain you are more than welcome to ask questions and ill be glade to answer.

1942 Springfield M1903 manufactured by Remington, updated with Sarco C stock and A3 handguard and Lyman 57 SMET sight, 4 groove barrel. An all American rifle was designed and initially produced by Springfield in 1903. This particular example is a later version produced by Remington with a 4 groove versus the 2 groove 'war emergency' barrel. These rifles saw service in World War I, World War II, and even into the Korean war. Note: One problem with using a Lyman on the M1903 is that you have to use the large aperture hunting disc as the target disc is too big and interferes with the bolt. This probably could be fixed by milling down the target aperture disc. More info to come.
