Top Videos ... click: youtube.com BUZZ ... must see: flix.bz .... NEW today cieon.me From the archives of the DMV Channel on NO GOOD TV comes the return of one of the most legendary gangsta-rap groups in history -- Tha Dogg Pound! Only this time around, West Coast legends Kurupt and Daz Dillinger have company -- Bigg Snoop Dogg himself! This album features Snoop as an official member and executive producer of Tha Dogg Pound, providing that classic g-funk flow we all know and love. Combined with Daz's incredible flow and Kurupt's thoroughbred lyricism, this album is a guaranteed banger! In the booth, the Dogg Pound brought out all their A-List clientele for the album, including appearances by Diddy, Ice Cube, Paul Wall, David Banner, Nate Dogg and more. Supplying the beats are super-producers Battlecat, Jazze Pha and Swizz Beatz among other noted hitmakers. The album also includes the bangers "Sittin' On 23z" and the title track "Cali Iz Active". In the beginning, Daz and Kurupt were two of several artists on the Death Row roster. Both made minor contributions to Dre's The Chronic before making substantially larger contributions to Snoop's Doggystyle. In fact, their omnipresence on Snoop's album spawned the opportunity to capitalize on that album's success; it was no surprise then when Death Row tagged Daz and Kurupt as Snoop protégés, tagging them tha Dogg Pound for promotional reasons. Granted, Snoop played a large role in tha Dogg Pound, as did Nate Dogg, but with the ...

It addresses issues concerning lack of respect toward the female gender, especially poor black women. It has a very positive message and is often used as an example of Shakur's softer side. Many consider it to be one of the deepest rap songs ever made and is often referenced by other artists in their work, building Shakur's persona as a very conscious and influential rapper, voted #11 in About.com's Top 100 Rap Songs, with "Dear Mama" voted #4. It was first released in Shakur's 1993 album Strictly 4 My NIGGAZ, later appearing after his death in 1998 in his Greatest Hits compilation. The beat is sampled from Zapp & Roger's "Be Alright" and the chorus is sampled from The Five Stairsteps' "Ooh Child". The song peaked at #2 on the US Rap chart, #7 on the Hip Hop/R&B chart and #12 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart. The same beat was used the year before on southern rapper Big Mello's album Bone Hard Zaggin. The song was also covered by Lyfe Jennings and released on his 2006 album, The Phoenix. The song is also used in the soundtrack of the movie Freedom Writers. The video opens up with the words "Dedicated to the memory of Latasha Harlins, it's still on", in reference to the LA Riots. The video has a basic format with Shakur rapping in the middle of a circle surrounded by a crowd of people and in some scenes ...

"California Love" is a hip hop song by 2Pac featuring Dr. Dre and Roger Troutman. The song was released as 2Pac's comeback single upon his release from prison in 1995. A popular remix version of the song appeared on his 1996 double album All Eyez on Me. This is perhaps 2Pac's best-known song and his most successful, reaching #1 on the Billboard Hot 100 for two weeks. The song was nominated for a posthumous Grammy Award as a Best Rap Solo Performance and Best Rap Performance by a Duo or Group (with Dr. Dre and Roger Troutman) in 1997. The song was actually written and performed by Roger Troutman in the Original Version of California Love, Tupac and Dr. Dre made a modern day version of the song. The original version of the track was not available on any of Shakur's studio albums, but it can now be found on Shakur's compilation of Greatest Hits. The tune was adapted from Joe Cocker's song "Woman to Woman", and "California knows how to party" lines listing Los Angeles County neighborhoods are sung by Roger Troutman. The vocals "In the City of Compton" and the other cities and "California knows how to party" is adapted from Ronnie Hudson and the Street People's "West Coast Poplock". The remix features sample from the song "Intimate Connection" by Kleeer written by Norman Durham and Woody Cunningham. "California Love" was Shakur's only entry on ...
