TV One is the flagship network of New Zealand state broadcaster Television New Zealand (TVNZ). It was the first major television network in New Zealand, starting out from 1960 onwards as individual stations in major centres and eventually networking to become NZBC TV in 1969. The network was renamed Television One in 1975 upon the breakup of the New Zealand Broadcasting Corporation, and became a part of TVNZ in 1980 when Television One and South Pacific Television (now sister network TV2).

TV One is both a commercial television network and a public broadcaster. Central to TV One is news and current affairs, under the banner ONE News. Other programming consists of mainly drama, general entertainment and documentaries, both locally and internationally (especially British) produced. The network is broadcast on all digital platforms, and is available via analogue off most terrestrial transmitters.

It is estimated that 98.6% of New Zealand households with a television have access to TV One.

She's the hottest female act in the world right now. Forget Madonna, Beyonce or Mariah Carey, Lady Gaga is setting the bar. ONE News reporter Tim Wilson secured an audience with the self described New York performance artist to talk music, her legions of fans, and why performing is an orgasmic experience. Wow - what an amazing evening. The students of Tawa College, Wellington, New Zealand, performed a remixed version of Julie Andrew's "Do-Re-Mi" at the Wellington Train Station. They were filmed with the purpose of creating a music-video supplimentary to their annual musical performances - starting on Friday 24th July @ Tawa College. They were also captured by TVNZ's "One News" for both the 6pm and 10:30pm news updates. --I thoroughly enjoyed filming for the evening, and have edited together the music-video for Tawa College's onstage performances, as well as for YouTube internet screening: FINAL VIDEO: www.youtube.com The Do-Re-Mi dance idea has been inspired by a mass-mob dance in a Belgium train station, as what seems to be dozens and dozens of people dancing in public, taking many daily commuters by total surprise! Buy Kiwi Speak here! bit.ly From the streets of Auckland, New Zealand, tourists have a crack at 'Kiwi Speak.' Look out for Indian cricket superstar Rahul Dravid saying, 'If you drink and drive you're a bloody idiot!' The British lady with 'Florida' on her shirt is saying 'Bloody drongo, hori poofter!' And the Asian gentleman at 1.12s is saying 'No wucking furries...sir.' www.justinbrownbooks.com

See how his own network handles the story on its mid-evening news bulletin! The start of the 6pm One News bulletin on Friday 8 October - the day where already-suspended Breakfast television host Paul Henry causes a diplomatic row between India and New Zealand after he racially discriminated the Delhi Chief Minister Shelia Dikshit. Two days later, Paul Henry would resign from TVNZ. Filmed off an analogue television in Dunedin, hence the not-so-great quality. I do not own the copyright of the content of footage - the copyright belongs to Television New Zealand.
