Ozaukee County is a county in the U.S. state of Wisconsin. As of 2000, the population was 82,317. Its county seat is Port Washington . Ozaukee County is the smallest in area of any county in the state of Wisconsin. As of the 2000 Census, Ozaukee County had the 2nd lowest poverty rate of any county in the United States, at 2.6%. In terms of per capita income, it is the 25th wealthiest county in the country. Bolstered by low crime rates and school districts with high graduation rates, Forbes Magazine ranked Ozaukee County #2 on its list of "America's Best Places To Raise A Family" in June, 2008.

I had the privilege of serving as President of the Board and suggested a merger with Wisconsin Humane Society. Not everyone liked the idea but we'd have taken 10-20 more years to EVER get THIS facility. The dogs, cats and other critters WIN because some of us were more concerned about them, then local control. Imagination necessary...the building (designed by Kubala-Washatko) isn't done yet!

Once in a lifetime!! Albino Deer in Ozaukee County Wisconsin 2011. Herd of deer feeding at dusk. I was watching them for about 45 minutes before my battery on my camera was going dead, I decided to get some action. There was a decent sized 8 point buck in the group. Couldn't believe the amount of deer. I've seen two albino's in the area for about 6 months now. One is a buck and one is a doe.
