The Missouri Tigers athletics programs include the extramural and intramural sports teams of the University of Missouri, located in Columbia, Missouri, United States. The name comes from a band of armed guards called the Missouri Tigers who, in 1864, protected Columbia from Confederate guerrillas during the Civil War.

The University of Missouri (often referred to as Mizzou or MU) is the flagship institution of the University of Missouri System. The women's teams are sometimes called the Lady Tigers, but often both the men's and women's teams are simply called the Tigers. Mizzou is a member of the Big 12 Conference and is the only NCAA Football Bowl Subdivision program in Missouri.

Markel Brown of the Oklahoma State Cowboys added another energizing play with a right-handed dunk off an alley-oop but got called for his second technical foul for getting in Matt Pressey's face and was ejected. Brown provided a boost right from the start with a thunderous right-handed jam on Oklahoma State's first possession after winning the tip. He picked up a technical foul 90 seconds into the game that seemed inconsequential at the time but eventually led to his dismissal. Nash scored a career-high 27 points, Brian Williams added a career-best 22 and Oklahoma State knocked off No. 2 Missouri 79-72 on Wednesday night, handing the Tigers their second loss of the season.

We should be playing in the National Championship game. Ohio State, GTFO. You are going to lose to LSU. While you were chilling and your quarterback was at a Brad Paisley concert, Oklahoma was beating up on the number 1 team in the country in a conference championship game at neutral field. Oklahoma was ending Heisman dreams. Chase Daniel, you ran your mouth and Oklahoma knocked you and rocked you. Sorry, maybe you had a bad day. What to watch for: Lewis Baker layin' Tigers out. Reggie Smith layin' Tigers out. Curtis Lofton layin' Tigers out. Sam Bradford having a better day than Chase Daniel and setting freshman records. Goal line defense OU will take West Virginia, but OU wants LSU.

FS #48; FSV# 43. I have looked at other postings of this pair of fight songs and I found that there were no lyrics to "Every True Son." Well, I had enough and so here is your chance to sing along. I had made a lot of tweaking to make this clip since the computer has a mind of its own. I have heard from a few commenters that "Every True Son" was derived from the First World War song, "It's a Long Way to Tipperary," and they are right; it is just that the band added nutmeg and vanilla to make the coffee taste better. :) "Fight Tigers!" has a small chant in between that you can do, and it was difficult to do, but worth doing! Hope you enjoy the Tigers of the Plains' fight song vid by posting diligently. Thank you for your comments!
