Women's Professional Soccer (WPS) is the top level professional women's soccer league in the United States. It began play on March 29, 2009. The league was composed of seven teams for its first two seasons and will consist of 6 teams for the upcoming 2011 season, with continued plans for future expansion. The WPS is the highest level in the United States soccer pyramid for the women's game.

Chicago Red Stars ganó por 2-1 al Sky Blue FC el 5 de Septiembre de 2010 en un partido disputado en el Toyota Park de Bridgeview, Illinois ante 4.067 espectadores. Los goles fueron obra de Casey Nogueira (40') y Megan Rapinoe (90'), para Chicago Red Stars; y de Beverly Goebel (90'), para Washington Freedom. La jugadora gallega de Chicago Red Stars, Verónica Boquete, fue designada como MVP del partido, tras dar las dos asistencias de gol de su equipo. Fue el tercer encuentro que disputó con Chicago Red Stars, el segundo consecutivo como titular, y disputó el partido completo. Es la primera designación como MVP de una jugadora española en la Women's Professional Soccer (WPS), la liga profesional norteamericana. Lorraine Quinn is an American soccer player. These are highlights of a recent training session from April 2010. She usually trains about 2 hours per day. She recently graduated from Duke University where she holds the all time record for most games played, and she has played for the 2008 U23 United States Woman's National team. She took some time off from the game is is now training very hard. She wasn't drafted by the WPS, but is preparing for playing professional soccer in 2011 in WPS, English Superleague, Sweden or Europe. Please enjoy the video.
