Gathering of Developers (aka God Games and Gathering) was a Texas-based PC and video games publishing company, founded in January 1998 with the mission to bridge the gap between publishers and independent game developers, allowing independent developers creative control over their projects, ownership of their IP, and participation in the publishing and marketing decisions. Fueled by past publishing experiences and frustrations, several experienced development companies bound together to form a relationship-based publisher. The company later became a subsidiary of Take-Two Interactive. Gathering's first wave of releases included Railroad Tycoon II, Nocturne, Darkstone, Age of Wonders and Fly!. The company later expanded to the console market.

Take Two acquired the company outright in May 2000, and attempted unsuccessfully to manage the Texas based group from its New York HQ. The founders and employees of G.O.D. were unhappy with the lack of freedom the company allowed for following through on its principles of fair treatment of developers and IP ownership. Founder Doug Myres died unexpectedly in May 2001, prompting the other partners to negotiate a separation with the company shortly thereafter.

Eventually Take-Two took over all operations and rebranded the label simply Gathering, and have since folded it into the label 2K Games.

During the gaming trade event E3, Gathering was known for being extremely extravagant, offering free barbecue, live music, and beer to the nearly 10,000 E3 attendees that would cross the street into their "Promised Lot" each day; they were also famous for their Catholic Schoolgirl 'booth babes'.

Darkstone is an action role-playing game created by French developer Delphine Software International and released in 1999. Darkstone has many similarities to Diablo, particularly in the user interface. The game world is divided into the town (where you can trade weapons, armor, magical items and so on) and four Lands - Ardyl, Marghor, Omar and Serkesh. Each land contains the entrances to two dungeons, as well as other features associated with the various quests. Each of the first seven dungeons is associated with a quest and all of these have four levels. Completing a quest will result in your character recovering one of the seven crystals. The last dungeon leads to Draak's lair. The evil Lord Draak, who has the power to transform himself into a dragon, has recovered from earlier defeat and returned with his minions to the world of Uma bringing death and mayhem. Players attempt to find their way to Draak's lair and slay him in combat. On their way they must locate the seven crystals and use them to recreate the time orb, without which Draak can not be defeated. Download the Demo! www.4shared.com The Demo lets you play a few levels and go around the town and use a couple of classes!

Mafia: The City of Lost Heaven is a third-person shooter video game initially made for PC and released in 2002. It was later ported to the Sony PlayStation 2 and the Microsoft Xbox in 2004. It was developed by a Czech based company Illusion Softworks and published by Gathering of Developers. The game allows the player to take on the role of a criminal who has to accomplish various missions in order to advance in the game. It received strong critical reaction and continued to maintain a loyal cult following. As of March 12, 2008, Mafia has sold 2 million copies according to Take-Two Interactive. On August 21, 2007, Take-Two Interactive announced Mafia II at the 2007 Leipzig Games Convention, under development by Illusion Softworks. Mafia's storyline gameplay consists of driving, mainly easy city cruise between different locations, as well as chases and races; the rest of the game is based on third-person on-foot navigation and shooting - all inter-connected with cutscenes. In addition to the photo-realistic city and a huge countryside, detailed interiors like the city's airport, a museum, a church, a hotel, an abandoned prison, restaurants and Don Salieri's bar are included. Weather changes and day/night cycles are also in use. Mafia offers an opportunity to drive 51 classic American cars around the city, plus 19 bonus cars (of which 5 are racing models) unlockable after the main mode and the opening of a new game mode. Cars are introduced periodically - in the beginning ...

Age of Wonders was the first in a series that many considered a successor to Master of Magic. It featured 12 different races and a myriad of spells to research. The game was developed by Triumph Studios with help from Epic Megagames (now Epic Games) and published by Gathering of Developers (now an absorbed part of Take 2 Interactive). Age of Wonders is a 4x turn based strategy game in which you control a hero that you absolutely must not lose as you lead your race (and subsequent allied races) as you recruit units and other heroes to liberate/dominate the valley of wonders. Needless to say, it's fun. You can download a multiplayer demo from www.triumphstudios.com with 5 different races to play and lots of replayability over the internet. (Though fortunately I just picked up the real game from Value Village). Part 1 of 2. Broadway/Valdez District Specific Plan - Community Meeting #2 - July 9th, 2009 - 7/7/09. Oakland has long been one of the nations largest underserved trade areas for comparison goods. Comparison goods are defined as merchandise sold in apparel; department, specialty (such as jewelry shops and gift stores) and home furnishing stores for which consumers typically shop by comparing quality and prices. Unlike other mid-size cities that draw shoppers from surrounding areas, Oakland stores do not even serve the demand from its own residents. Oakland currently exports 75% of its potential sales in this category or roughly $1 billion in sales every year to neighboring communities. While the City has many fine merchants, it lacks many larger retailers and a critical mass of retail selection. This dearth of retail options discourage residents from shopping locally. This directly diminishes Oaklands tax base that supports road maintenance, clean parks, and functional city services. To address retail leakage, the City of Oakland has completed a year-plus-long Citywide Retail Enhancement Strategy (Implementation Plan), composed of four components. In December 2007, the Oakland City Council reviewed Phase I of the Strategy and endorsed the preferred alternative of the Upper Broadway Strategy A Component of the Oakland Retail (Report) and directed staff to develop a Specific Plan for the area. Phases II and III of the Strategy looked at the 53 retail nodes (other than ...

Fly! is a flight simulator for PC and Apple Macintosh computers developed by Terminal Reality and published by Gathering of Developers. It included simulation of air traffic control features as well as aircraft's on-board systems, and was acclaimed for its highly detailed fully-working interactive cockpits. Featured aircraft were exclusively fixed-wing light to medium aircraft. It was succeeded by Fly! 2k, which included InfoMETAR (created by David Sandberg) and Sky! Special Edition (created by How in the World?). The sequel, Fly! II, was released in 2000 and featured a helicopter. 'Fly!' was also the subject of a Real Life comic, in which Greg and Dave's plane crashes due to an ICQ pop-up window.
