'Anachronox' ( , created from anachronism and noxious) is a 3D, third person computer role-playing game produced by Tom Hall and the Dallas Ion Storm games studio and released in 2001. Anachronox offers console-RPG gameplay using a heavily modified version of the Quake II engine, rewritten chiefly to allow a wider color palette, emotive animations and facial expressions, and better lighting, particle, and camera effects.

Anachronox features a science fiction story influenced by cyberpunk, film noir, and quirky humor. The story begins as down-and-out private investigator Sylvester "Sly Boots" Bucelli looks for work in the slums of Anachronox, an alien planet near the hub of the galaxy's space-lanes. He travels to other planets and, amassing an unlikely (and sometimes unwanted) group of friends, unravels a mystery that threatens the existence of the universe. The story prominently features the theme of working through troublesome events of one's past.

Anachronox suffered a long and troubled development; the game ends on a major cliffhanger, and Tom Hall planned to create a sequel. Critics enjoyed the game and awarded it high marks for its design and story, but it was poorly marketed and Ion Storm closed its Dallas offices one month after its release. It developed a cult following, and in 2003, Anachronox's cinematic director Jake Hughes spliced together sequences and cut scenes into a feature-length, award-winning machinima film.

I am trying to beat this game for years but I need your help. Once I get to a part that Sly Boots has to chose to help Dr. Rho Bowman to find her tech or go to planet "Hephaestus" with Grumpos Matavastros, these two parts I need help with.

Anachronox (pronounced /ÉËnækrÉnÉks/) is a 3-D, third person computer role-playing game produced by Tom Hall and the Ion Storm games studio and released in 2001. The game is built on a heavily modified version of the Quake II engine, considerably rewritten to add improvements such as a wider color palette and more complex character animations (including facial expressions). Gameplay was notably influenced by console RPGs such as Chrono Trigger, one of Tom Hall's favorite video games[1], although character statistics and item collection have been simplified and the emphasis is on exploration and story-telling rather than RPG-style character building. The player plays the part of Sylvester "Sly Boots" Bucelli, a down-and-out detective in the slums of an alien world called Anachronox. This world sits inside a giant, hollow sphere called Sender One, which is the center of the galaxy's network of space-lanes. Recruited against his will to investigate a mystery concerning the very nature of the universe, Sly travels throughout the galaxy, meeting many characters along the way, some of whom can join the player's party. Development took roughly three and a half years, and the development team was able to finish only about half of the game, which ends on a major cliffhanger. The story was to be completed in the sequel, tentatively titled Anachronox Prime, but the sequel was never made. However, the game nonetheless developed a cult following, largely due to its off-beat, humorous ...
