This clinic on the Rice Lake, Dallas & Menomonie Railway originally was part of a one-hour Power Point presentation given to the membership of South Central Wisconsin Division of the NMRA in 2002. See some operations on the layout at: www.youtube.com It's an HO scale model railroad layout based on a prototype that used to run in northwest Wisconsin. "Pride And Joy" was the second track on the debut album from American blues-rock band Stevie Ray Vaughan & Double Trouble, "Texas Flood". One of his most famous tracks, parts of the solos are from another of the band's songs, "I'm Cryin'". Vaughan wrote this song for his wife at that time, Lenora, but she thought it was written about a former girlfriend of his, so he wrote another song for her, "Lenny". "Texas Flood" was released on June 13, 1983 by Epic Records. The album was named after a cover featured on the album, "Texas Flood", first recorded by blues singer Larry Davis in 1958. Produced by the band and recording engineer Richard Mullen, it was recorded in only three days at Jackson Browne's personal recording studio in Los Angeles. Vaughan wrote six of the ten tracks on "Texas Flood", including "Pride And Joy". Stephen 'Stevie' Ray Vaughan (October 3, 1954 -- August 27, 1990) was an American guitarist, vocalist, songwriter, and a notable recording artist. Often referred to by his initials, SRV, he is best known as the leader of the blues rock band Double Trouble, with whom he recorded four studio albums. Influenced by guitarists of various genres, Vaughan emphasized intensity and emotion in his guitar playing, and favored vintage guitars and amplifiers. He became one of the leading blues-rock musicians, encompassing multiple styles including jazz and ballads. Born and raised in Dallas, Texas as the younger brother of Jimmie Vaughan, he moved to Austin at the age of ...

This is a much-condensed history I originally did in the early 1980's for the Soo Line Historical Society. I then produced a one-hour Power Point presentation as a clinic for the South Central Wisconsin Division of the NMRA in 2002 from which I derived this video. The RLD&M originally ran in northwest Wisconsin from 1893-99 then was absorbed into the Soo Line. The last vestige of the line was abandoned within the past 10 years. See the other half of this presentation describing how I modeled this line in HO scale at: www.youtube.com
