The Atlanta Falcons are a professional American football team based in Atlanta, Georgia. They are a member of the South Division of the National Football Conference (NFC) in the National Football League (NFL). The Falcons joined the NFL in 1965 as an expansion team, after the NFL offered then-owner Rankin Smith a franchise to keep him from joining the rival American Football League (AFL). The AFL instead granted a franchise to Miami, Florida (the Miami Dolphins). In their 45 years of existence, the Falcons have compiled a record of 298 402 6 with division championships in 1980, 1998, 2004, and 2010. Their first and only Super Bowl appearance was Super Bowl XXXIII in 1999.

UCLA punts the ball to Desean Jackson on November 4th 2006 in Berkeley. Unfortunately for UCLA and its Korey Boswarth, Thomas Decoud (now with the Atlanta Falcons) was waiting to deliver a knockout block which left Boswarth unconscious and DJ looking at nothing but green between him and the GOLD ZONE. After the play, Decoud gets up and celebrates with his team and the student section, while Bosworth...well yeah... ...Meanwhile Marshawn is simply Marshawn.

PHILADELPHIA -- Philadelphia Eagles receiver DeSean Jackson suffered a head injury after a brutal full-speed collision with Atlanta Falcons cornerback Dunta Robinson and will not return to the game. Robinson's return to the game is questionable. Jackson dropped a pass when hit by Robinson, who led with his head and hit Jackson in the helmet. Robinson was flagged with a 15-yard penalty for hitting a defenseless receiver. Both players went to their locker rooms for observation following the hit which occurred early in the second quarter. Jackson was trying to catch a pass from Kevin Kolb when he was hit by Robinson. Their helmets appeared to collide and both players stayed down on the field for several minutes. Robinson and Jackson each were helped to the locker room by medical personnel for their teams. Jackson had already accounted for 78 yards of offense and two Eagles touchdowns on the day, running for a 31 yard TD and catching a 34-yard touchdown pass
