Vicente del Bosque González (-esbiˈθente ðel ˈβoske ɣonˈθaleθ; born 23 December 1950) is a retired Spanish footballer and World Cup winning manager. He is currently the manager of the Spanish national football team, taking over from Luis Aragonés following Spain's title success at Euro 2008, going on to lead Spain to win their first-ever World Cup two years later. He is known for coaching Real Madrid from 1999 to 2003, a very successful period in the club's history. He has worked for many years with assistant coach Toni Grande. His greatest achievement yet was coaching the Spanish national football team to win their first FIFA World Cup 2010 title in South Africa. With that success, he follows Marcello Lippi in being a UEFA Champions League and World Cup-winning coach.
