Paul Edward Haggis (born March 10, 1953) is a Canadian screenwriter, producer, and director. He spent his early career producing and directing various American and Canadian television network series.

Directed by Clint Eastwood Produced by Steven Spielberg Screenplay by Paul Haggis Flags of Our Fathers recounts the life stories of the six men who raised the flag at The Battle of Iwo Jima, a turning point in WWII. Based on the New York Times best-selling novel by James Bradley. US premiere set for October 20th, 2006. The trailer has first been released exclusively on Military.com, September 8th, and will appear in theaters on that same day. The movie "Letters from Iwo Jima" (Red Sun Black Sand), Clint Eastwood's companion film told from the Japanese perspective, will be released later in December 2006.
