The National Party of Australia is an Australian political party.

Traditionally representing graziers, farmers and rural voters generally, it began as the Country Party, but adopted the name National Country Party in 1975, changed to National Party of Australia in 1982, and became The Nationals for 2003. Federally, in New South Wales, and to an extent Victoria, it has generally been the minor party in the traditional coalition with the Liberal Party of Australia in government. In Opposition it has worked in formal Coalition or separately, but generally in co-operation with the Liberal Party and it predecessor, the United Australia Party. It was the major coalition party in Queensland between 1957 and 2008, when it merged with the junior Queensland Division of the Liberal Party of Australia to form the Liberal National Party an organisation dominated by ex-Nationals.

The party's federal parliamentary leader since 3 December 2007, following the coalition's defeat at the 2007 federal election, is Warren Truss.[1}.

www.instablogs.com eCommerce walking tight rope The current economic downturn has left very few businesses unaffected. eBay too has registered its first decline in 13 year history. There has been 1 percent fall in the value of goods sold by the site and first ever decline in revenue which had been growing at 30 percent this time until last year. With the downturn becoming increasingly palpable more and more people would be inclined towards selling things to come up with cash. Even then it seems that it would be difficult to make for the revenue decline. To say that in difficult economic conditions, buyers and sellers are more likely to turn to eBay in pursuit of a bargain, or to raise needed cash is not inviting enough. Online shoppers today are smarter than web consumers of 1990s. Essentially, buyers have discovered that they can find deals that are just as good elsewhere around the Web these days, and in environments that are easier to use and offer greater certainty and security than eBays. Sellers too will catch on and follow the buyers and this time not necessarily on eBay. Its tough calling for ecommerce. New Zealand pessimistic about economy New Zealand consumers are more pessimistic about the outlook for the economy as global credit- market turmoil sparks concerns about financial stability. Most of the people expect that the economy will only worsen over the next one year. Confidence has fallen after the economy slumped into a recession in the first half of this ...

Looks at how Human Rights is a tool that seditious elements use against Australia. It is not the actual wording so much which is the problem. It is in the INTERPRETATION applied by left wing courts. There is such a thing with 'Religious Tolerance' laws calle the 'threshold'... where by they will accept any complaint by 'minorities' and reject those from majority groups on the grounds that 'Your complaint does not reach the threshold' of acceptance. (I know from experience)

Abbott quizzed on broadband and economy www.abc.net.au Broadcast: 10/08/2010 Reporter: Kerry O'Brien 51 economists back Labor's stimulus spend SMH, August 16, 2010 - 3:57PM tinyurl.com Pity the PM didn't hold broadband to light, then oppose it Monday, August 2, 2010 tinyurl.com TONY ABBOTT: ... but if you can't put batts in rooves without causing house fires, if you can't build school halls without rip off after rip off, why would you be confident that they could do this? [Roll out a $43 billion national broadband network.] KERRY O'BRIEN: Well let's talk about school halls. When you talk about the waste in the Government's school building stimulus program, the Orgill report investigating claims of waste in that program found that there had been complaints related to 2.7 per cent of all schools that have benefitted from the program - that's 254 schools out of 7900 schools where there were complaints. That presumably means there were no complaints at all from 7650 schools for a program designed to bring benefits to schools and underpin the economy, provide jobs, keep the construction sector going. Is that really the disaster you've painted it to be? TONY ABBOTT: But every single complaint that was investigated was found to have substance. Now at the very beginning of the Orgill process, Mr Orgill made it clear that he could not guarantee the anonymity of complainants. We know that there has been a great deal of institutional bullying of school principals who have gone ...
