Monash University (or simply Monash) is a public university based in Melbourne, Victoria. It was founded in 1958 and is the second oldest university in the state. Monash is a member of Australia's Group of Eight and the ASAIHL.

Monash enrolls approximately 39,000 undergraduate and 16,000 graduate students, making it the university with the largest student body in Australia. It also has more applicants than any university in the state of Victoria. Monash alumni include Indonesian Vice-President Dr Boediono, Australian Minister for Arts and Minister for Regional Australia, Regional Development and Local Government, Simon Crean; Woolworths Limited CEO, Michael Luscombe; and longest serving Treasurer of Australia, Peter Costello.

Monash is home to major research facilities, including the Australian Synchrotron, the Monash Science Technology Research and Innovation Precinct (STRIP), the Australian Stem Cell Centre, 100 research centres and 17 co-operative research centres. In 2008, Monash University attracted more than $210 million of research investment and grants from various Government bodies and external organisations.

The university has eight campuses: six in Victoria (Clayton, Caulfield, Berwick, Peninsula, Parkville and Gippsland), one in Malaysia and one in South Africa. Monash also has a research and teaching centre in Prato, Italy and a graduate research school in Mumbai, India.

Monash University Video

***RATE AND COMMENT PLZ*** What would it be like if Darth Vader decided to go to University? Although his knowledge of the Jedi Arts seems unsurpassed, he did make a few hundred stupid decisions over the course of the Star Wars Movies...maybe he needs that extra education. The file is not the best quality, but you get the idea (basically, its just some random dude who decided to dress up as Darth Vader and go to Uni to see the reaction of his lecturer). No doubt you are wondering why anyone would want to do this (besides it being pretty damn funny). Say you get a Darth Vader suit for your birthday....what the hell do you do with it? I mean, you can't exactly wear it around your house all the time, can you? (well you can, but it gets boring awfully quick, believe me). Instead of the suit sitting in a closet/garage for next few years, I decided to put it to good use. At least the lecturer found it funny...he took pictures with me after the class ^^. Filmed at Monash University Clayton Campus, Melbourne Australia. Electrical Engineering class, 2006. Starring Shirr0. The lecturer was the great, the incredible, the legendary (etc.) HAMOUD ABACHI!!!!11!/1! *UPDATE!!!* A follow up prank is being planned...let's just say it will blow this one out of the water...if you want more details, look through page 2 or 3 of the comments and you will see...:D

Myself and 3 mates play a prank on a random lecture at Monash Uni in Australia. It just so happens that the speaker was a guest lecturer from England and this was his first time in Australia! Great first impression! For those that don't realise. The animals are a Cat and a Dog. With the dog chasing the cat out of the lecture. Also the normal teacher for that lecture was sitting in the front row. Next to the cat.. haha Just one note. Some people have mentioned that you can't see anything happening down the front. But there isn't anything happening. The cat is just sitting there in the front row like he is meant to be in that class.

All rights go to Monash University, being the creators of this amazing animation, based on factual studies and findings. In this clip you will view:- City of Temples - Village Shrine - Residential - Living City - Major Canal - Waterways - Central Angkor - Rice Fields. These animations depict what we know of landscapes and daily life at Angkor in 13th Century CE. Animations created collaboratively by Monash University and the University of Sydney. The Monash animation team would like to thank Roland Fletcher, Christophe Pottier, Martin Polkinghome and the Monash Faculty of IT. Also a big thank you to National Geographic for the Angkor Exhibition on the website and monthly issue.

Monash University Mechatronics Project I - Faulty Jar Ejector. This is the project given to second year Monash University mechatronics students utilising the use of actuators, sensors and a programmable logic controller. The task as to design an automation system that would eject jars that were only half-filled with the purple foam. Essentially it's a quality control automation system. Although all parts of the project were given to us by the faculty, it was up to the student groups to design the system at the lowest aggregate cost of the parts but at the highest accuracy and efficiency. Although not shown on the video, my system was able to cope with all speeds capable from the turntable, including backwards. This was a very straight-forward project (I thought it was insanely easy) and had to be done in groups of 4. Even though I did basically all the work, this project/course was an easy High Distinction.
