Igbaras is a 3rd class municipality in the province of Iloilo, Philippines. According to the 2007 census, it has a population of 29,417 people. It is bounded by the Municipality of Guimbal to the southeast, Municipality of Miag-ao to the southwest, Municipality of Tubungan to the northeast and the province of Antique to the northwest.

Igbaras celebrates its town fiesta on May 22 in honor of Sta. Rita de Cascia. The town has many points of interest including the ruins of the old church belfry, Mount Napulak, Bahi-Bahi, Nadsadjan Falls, Lagsakan Falls, Timapok Falls, Guiritsan Falls, Sampanan Falls, Bat Cave, Igcabugao Cave, Bais Cave and the Pakuyang sa Tangyan Festival. Rafflesia, the world's largest flower, can also be found here.

It is the drive from my mothers hometown of Igbaras to Iloilo City (well to the SM City Mall in Iloilo City). Normally the drive takes about an hour, simlar to my "Waterford to Dublin in 8mins" video I've increased the speed of the video to 16 times normal reducing the journey to just 8 mins. Originally I had the speed increased to 32 times normal taking the video to just 4 mins in lenght. But it was too fast and the camera was shakey which didn't look great. Snippets from late afternoon rush trips to the Iloilo Boy Scouts (provincial) jamboree held on Oct. 26-30, 2009 in Igtalongon, Igbaras, Iloilo, Philippines. This vid was edited from personal and borrowed materials, some of which were 'retrieves' from the web as the originals had already been deleted after upload/publication to other sites...hence the quality issues :-D. A quote from a Facebook album I promptly created after the first trip: "...Left our hometown at 7pm and headed for Igbaras town proper from where we took a 15-km modest ascent along a narrow rough road of blind and sharp curves across a dense forest lit by moonbeams. It was spooky passing by a mass flood-drowning site of recent memory and some fatalities-marred ambush sites...Anyway, we then parked at the foot of a steep 1-km winding slope and treaded up to reach the encampment..." "The Site" (1:09) of this clip was extracted from a file (uploaded earlier) that was a 360-degree pan of the late afternoon panorama on Oct. 29 while the whole encampment was preparing for the grand campfire. Partly hidden from view (capped by clouds) was majestic Napulac, a mountain resembling a boobie...a formation gloriously nippled by a rock mass (which btw has become host to a huge cross erected by the Catholic faithful). :-)
