|
The program seeks to discover the best singer in Estonia through a series of nationwide auditions. The outcomes of the later stages of the competition are determined by public televoting. The format features three judges who give critiques of the contestants' performances: the singer, guitar player, music critic and journalist Mihkel Raud, the composer Rein Rannap and the singer Maarja-Liis Ilus. The show has had numerous hosts since it began with all of them staying no more than a single season. Since 2007, the Estonian viewers have chosen three winners: Birgit Õigemeel, Jana Kask and Ott Lepland. Since winning the show, Õigemeel has released three studio albums. The world's youngest Idol winner Kask released her debut album in December 2009. |
