'Australian Idol' was the Logie Award-winning Australian singing competition, which began its first season on July 2003 and ended its run in November 2009. Although its broadcaster had confirmed another series in 2010, this fell through. As part of the Idol franchise, Australian Idol originated from the reality program Pop Idol created by British entertainment executive Simon Fuller. Australian Idol was televised on Channel 10 for all seven series, and was broadcast on Austereo Radio Network between 2005 and 2007.
