Dedovsk ( ) is a town in Moscow Oblast, Russia, located some 38 km west of Moscow and 30 km southeast of Istra. Population: 27,600 (2005 est.); 27,662 (2002 Census); 30,740 (1989 Census).
Dedovsk was first mentioned in 1573 as a village of Dedovo ( ), which would turn into a bigger settlement in the 18th century. In 1913, a textile factory was built in the area, which would give birth to a settlement of Dedovsky ( ) and absorb the Dedovo village. In 1940, the settlement was turned into the town of Dedovsk.
