With the on-going re-development of Blackfriars Station, part of the work for an enhanced Thameslink service, the running lines have been slewed over to the east side of the bridge and the new overall roof is being installed. Work on the west side of the bridge continues, from where the track has been lifted, with the sounds in the background of needle guns and welding, as First Capital Connect Class 319s pass through in quick succession.
