**I APOLOGIZE FOR THE SWEARING!!** :( we got over 20cm. of snow in 5 hours in a major winter storm in Barrie, ON. My friend and I were walking to work in this blast of wintery weather, when we come across a Barrie Transit bus stuck in the middle of a normally busy intersection. He was there for a good 35 minutes, just sitting there. I pulled out my camera, and taped this driver JUST as he tried to get out of this snow drift. The first person trying to help the driver get out is ANOTHER Barrie Transit Driver, (a very impatient one) which soon gives up on trying to help his fellow co-worker get out. Then, a random civillian who drives 18-wheelers for a living approaches to ACTUALLY help the driver get outta this intersection and on with his route. Watch the video, and note that my friend and I apologize for the swearing and any inmaturity that may have happened I also hope this guy who did get the driver on his way know's that he is a great civillian! I hope he is watching this right now :) I love how the rivers of the cars at the end give him credit by honking their horns :)

This train makes all local stops northbound to Barrie South GO Station. The trainset was pushed by locomotive #541, a 1990 GMDD F59PH. It was retired in late 2009.

This is 1 of 2 remaining (original) F59-PH engines GO Transit has on their fleet. All of the others have been recycled since the MP40s have been implemented. Soon enough, not even this engine will be running the rails for GO anymore ... :( This video was taken during one of MANY nasty storms that rolled through Southern Ontario overnight, so the sound you hear is the raindrops hitting my car. I didnt wanna get wet, so I stayed inside and video taped it from my seat :P

This train is the 6:15pm arrival at Barrie South. Horrible horn on the cab leading this train... Made me cringe a bit.. Nifty crossing setup they have here though! This street is usually very busy, so its a nice addition to the crossing, to provide extra safety. If anyone knows the GO Transit frequencies for scanners on the BARRIE line, near Barrie, can you let me know?? Thanks a bunch!!

This train is the 6:55pm arrival at Barrie South. Great horn on this cab car.. He needs it, flying like he was! This video was taken on Killarney Beach Road, just south of Barrie in Innisfil. There's even a brand-new Setra S417 TopClass demo bus in this slideshow, along with one of Ontario Northland's brand new Prevost X3-45s, the new Timmins Transit 4th-generation Nova LFS, and some new GO MCI D4500CTs. All of the songs are from the first Pirates of the Caribbean soundtrack, which I really think is epic! Songs: The Black Pearl, He's a Pirate, Will and Elizabeth, and Barbossa is Hungry. All of these were composed by Klaus Bedelt.
