Alyksandr Zolotinska-ipa Ankvab ( , ; born December 26, 1952, Sukhumi) is the Vice President of Abkhazia, a prominent member of the political party Aitaira and a businessman. Before becoming Vice President, Ankvab had been Prime Minister, a post to which he was appointed by newly elected President Sergei Bagapsh on 14 February 2005. In the 4 October 2004 Presidential election, Ankvab had supported Bagapsh's candidacy following his own exclusion by the Central Election Commission.
