Al-Haffah ( ) is a Syrian city administratively belonging to Latakia Governorate. Al-Haffah has an altitude of 194m. It has a population of 17,921. Al-Haffah is the largest section (Manteqa) of the four administrative sections forming Latakia Goverorate; City of Latakia, Al-Haffah, Jableh and Al-Qurdaha. Al-Haffah is located on a mountin next to that where Salah-Ul-Deen Castle (7 km); which is very famous in the Syrian Monuments Directory due to its history (starting with Phoenicians, and being a strategic point for Crussade Invaders) and the unique "Pole of the Pregnant" (ar: عامود الحبلة ), which is a tower sculptured in stone to connect the two part of the castle without using the gates.
