Here I thought all the weather had passed for the day... I was sorely mistaken. A friend and I were heading to his house for something, when all of a sudden I notice this funnel cloud as we reach the top of a hill. As most people know, I hate bad weather with a passion, and now I find myself playing the roll of a temporary storm chaser... Irony has no stronger face, I swear. We thought it was headed in the opposite direction of our travel, so we continued to his house. Everything seemed hunky dory until we headed back town. Less than two minutes out of his drive way we find a cop car that is responding to a possible emergency. We thought he was busting a drunk, but it turns out that there was a 8 foot tree limb that got blown into a power line and was now dangling from it. We also noticed that there was a house-fire caused by a direct lightning strike not to far away from that position, firetrucks whizzing past on the highway. A fairly large tree had been split in half by lightning as well, not to mention that tree debris was scattered all over the roads... Amazing what happens in ten minutes, no?

Upon shutting down of weeklong search operations at Trade Lake Camp in Burnett County, Wisconsin on June 22, 2008. Many had already left to go home at this point in the day, or had volunteered on previous days, so this toast was very much for them as well. This was taken with the movie mode of my Kodak digital camera. The camera ran out of memory midway through, so this clip cuts off prematurely.
