Passenger Transport, formerly called Invercargill Passenger Transport, and often named according to the location of its branches eg Dunedin Passenger Transport, was formed in 1991 through the acquisition of the Invercargill City Council bus fleet.

Following seven months of construction, Auckland's new waterfront tramway opened for training runs on Friday 29th July 2011, in preparation for full public opening on 6th August 2011. Here we see trams ATL 257 (former Melbourne X1 class #466) and ATL 258 (former Melbourne W2 class #421) turning from Gaunt Street into Daldy Street, at 1557hrs on Tuesday 2nd August, 2011. The return of trams to Auckland streets comes 55 years after the last commercial trams operated in the city, last running in December 1956.

EMD G18AR loco's DBR 1282 and DBR 1213 head steam loco Ja 1275 and its excursion consist eastbound through Ranui at 2155hrs on Sunday 4th September 2011, enroute from Henderson to Parnell, via Swanson (where the diesels ran around the train). The train had earlier derailed in Henderson while travelling as the "Kaipara Cannonball" excursion, from Helensville to Auckland.

Cab ride in an a DC loco with 4 car SA set, making use of the new signalling by departing Britomart on the up line, then crossing back to the down line on the Newmarket branch. Train eventually stops for a red signal just before Sarawia Street in Newmarket (footage also ends at that point) to allow a Britomart bound DMU to clear the cross overs.
