Pakistan has banned a new Indian film that stars an Osama Bin Laden look-alike. The country's censor board has objected to the portrayal of the world's most wanted man, saying it could trigger a terrorist attack. RT's Karan Singh meets the people behind the film, and asks, is the world ready for post 9/11 humour?

Security forces have successfully countered the terrorist attack at Pakistan Armys General Headquarters when a group of terrorists attacked on security check post at GHQ. A counter commando-operation was launched at near 11 by security forces when a white colored vehicle attempted to enter gate number 1 of the GHQ. Terrorists were disguised in military uniform and tried to deceit the security officials present on duty at security check post. According to sources when they (terrorists) were asked to prove their identity, they opened fire at the officials and made efforts to go ahead. Further, when a continuous counter was set by the security agencies, terrorists threw hand grenades on them. During the fight military choppers including cobra and gunship continued flying above the spot. security forces cordoned the respective and surrounding area nearing the spot. Security agencies killed all 4 terrorists during combat, however some speculations are there may be two of the terrorists rushed away from the spot. Later reports tell that in counter insurgency near 6 security officials also embraced shahdat, including two officer ranks. Yet it is premature to confirm the exact causality figure, security forces have established full control on the situation. It took security forces almost 3 hours to overcome the situation. A large number of media was present to cover the situation but was stopped by the security to advance. [Courtesy: Associated Press of Pakistan]

The Listening Post looks at Pakistan in the post-Musharraf era. Under President Pervez Musharraf's government, the Pakistani media was subject to extensive liberalisation with dozens of new TV channels being launched. But as the Musharraf era neared its end stations were closed, anchor people were ordered off the air and newspapers faced censure for reporting unfavourably on the government. What will the coalition government and Asif Ali Zardari, the new president, mean for the media now? What will the change of leadership mean for freedom of speech? In this week's Newsbytes: Saudi TV station Al Arabiya's man in Tehran gets kicked out of Iran; problems at the recently launched BBC Arabic channel as staff vote to strike; under fire Thai PM Samak Sundaravej is told to leave office because of a TV cooking show; and American cable giant MSNBC bows to pressure after accusations of overly politicising its US convention coverage. The largest and most expensive experiment in scientific history has just been switched on beneath the French-Swiss border. If you're not sure exactly what the Large Hadron Collider is for, perhaps our Video of the Week might help. It's a collision of physics and rap.

(composite video - Musharraf @6.15+) Gunmen in southern Pakistan have set ablaze more than two dozen trucks carrying NATO supplies to Afghanistan, less than a day after Pakistan blocked a vital transport route following the deaths of three soldiers in an alleged NATO air strike..... Attacks on trucks carrying goods for US and NATO-led forces are routine. But Friday's incident came a day after Pakistan blocked the convoys following the deaths of three Pakistani soldiers blamed on cross-border NATO fire. "Around 20 attackers armed with rocket launchers and assault rifles attacked these trucks. They set ablaze 27 trucks parked there," district police chief Abdul Hameed Khoso told AFP of the pre-dawn attack. The incident took place in Shikarpur district of the southern province of Sindh and was confirmed by another top administrative official. Officials said the main land route for NATO supplies remained blocked and no trucks were being allowed to enter Afghanistan for the second consecutive day Friday. "Trucks carrying fuel and other goods for NATO are still not allowed to enter Afghanistan," an administrative official at Torkham, the main border crossing in Pakistan's Khyber district, told AFP by telephone. A security official in the northwestern city of Peshawar also confirmed that convoys were suspended for second day and that they had not received fresh orders to restore the supplies for NATO.
