Dear Friends, Another historic Gospel Campaign has just come to a climactic conclusion here in Lokoja, Nigeria. Tonight Evangelist Reinhard Bonnke preached a clear Gospel message on repentance and the great majority of the 150000 present prayed with him to receive salvation and forgiveness from sin. The cross is the centerpiece of the Christian faith and everything else must revolve around it. When the cross is preached, a resounding "Amen" can be heard from Heaven in the form of signs, wonders and miracles. - An 8-year-old girl, deaf and dumb from birth heard and spoke tonight for the first time in her life! - A man who had been an occultist for the past 24 years was crippled by some debilitating disease. During the campaign here, he surrendered his life to Jesus and then, last night, he brought his cultic fetishes to be destroyed. Minutes later, during the prayer for the sick he received a miraculous healing and can now walk! - A young lady who was crippled for 6 years had to be carried back and forth to the meetings all week. I saw her sitting in the second row during the Fire Conference and, although I did not know what was wrong with her, I felt prompted to pray for her. I went down and laid hands on her in the name of Jesus. Tonight she walked up on the platform on her own...totally healed! There were many wonderful testimonies tonight...to many for us to hear, but one thing is certain; Jesus is at work in Lokoja!! Before the meeting came to a close, Evangelist ...

Located in Obajana, Kogi State, 220 km southwest of Abuja and 25km from where the road to Kabba branches off the Abuja-Okene highway, the cement plant has a gas pipeline running from the gas manifold at Ajaokuta Steel (another project I hope to discuss some other time). The project which cost an estimated $1 billion (about N126 billion), was financed by both local and international financial institutions. It has a capacity of 4.4 million tons per annum (pa). Obajana Cement was designed and built by Dangote Industries Limited one of Nigeria's conglomerates. It was designed to use locally available limestone, which is the most important raw material for cement production, and natural gas from the Niger Delta, to produce cement at a production cost that is expected to be below the current importation cost. Despite the fact that the limestone is locally-derived and although the Nigerian market is being flooded with cement from the plant, Obajana Cement Company seems to be performing poorly in terms of its corporate social responsibility. The company has not been fair to indigenes of the local area, apparently taking advantage of their somewhat docile attitude. The indigenes claim that the company employs them as junior staff only and that they are not allowed to associate as unions. Apparently the company's management also avoids relating directly with the local population as much as possible. I cannot find the right words with which to describe the condition of the road ...

Greetings from Lokoja, Nigeria! I wish you could have been there tonight for the opening service of our Great Gospel Campaign. There is electricity in the air and great expectation for what God will do this week. On my way to the field, I saw a picture of a cloud descending on the huge crowd and I am sure that the glory of God is poised to invade this city in an extraordinary way. I preached Christ crucified tonight and then we saw the power of the Gospel demonstrated. Many thousands received salvation and many more were miraculously healed. Have a look at the attached picture of a boy who had a huge, furiously swollen abscess on his leg for 5 years. As I was praying he said he felt a "rushing wind" blow over him and the swelling miraculously disappeared! Please intercede for us throughout this week. The work happening here is a matter of life and death for multitudes of people. We are co-laborers together with you and whether your calling is to pray, to pay or to preach, each one of us is a vital link in the chain of God's purposes. Thank you for your partnership. More to come...
