Herbertpur is a town and a nagar panchayat in Dehradun district in the Indian state of Uttarakhand.

CALL OF THE SNOW LION FILM #5 (more on www.tibet-foundation.org ) This is the fith episode of a new documentary series from Tibet Foundation revealing a history of the unsettled Tibetan Diaspora. Following our stay in Mundgod, South India, we go straight to the North, near Dehra Dun, to visit different settlements of the area. Here, the Tibetans in exile don't rely on agriculture but sweater selling business. This is the high season and most of them are on the roads of India doing business. We take the opportunity to visit the old people's home in Herbertpur settlement where all the men are ex-soldiers, to listen to their stories, and to let them pass their knowledge to the next generation. CALL OF THE SNOW LION In 1949, the Chinese People's Liberation Army marched into the Kham region of east Tibet creating unprecedented upheaval which, in 1959, resulted in thousands of Tibetans moving into exile in India, Nepal and beyond. Sixty years later in 2010, we look back into the reality of the history of the unsettled Tibetan Diaspora, their expectations, hopes and vision for the future.
