The Green Bay Packers are an American football team based in Green Bay, Wisconsin. They are members of the North Division of the National Football Conference (NFC) in the National Football League (NFL). The Packers are the current NFL champions. Green Bay is the third-oldest franchise in the NFL, though they were organized and playing in 1919.

The Packers are the last vestige of "small town teams" that were once common in the NFL during the 1920s and 1930s. Founded in 1919 by Earl "Curly" Lambeau (hence the name Lambeau Field on which the team plays) and George Whitney Calhoun, the Green Bay Packers can trace their lineage to other semi-professional teams in Green Bay dating back to 1896. In 1919 and 1920 the Packers competed as a semi-professional football team against clubs from around Wisconsin and the Midwest. They joined the American Professional Football Association (APFA) in 1921, the forerunner to what is known today as the National Football League (NFL). The Packers are the only non-profit, community-owned major league professional sports team in the United States.

The Green Bay Packers have won 13 league championships (more than any other team in the NFL), including nine NFL championships prior to the Super Bowl era and four Super Bowl victories-in 1967 (Super Bowl I), 1968 (Super Bowl II), 1997 (Super Bowl XXXI) and 2011 (Super Bowl XLV). The team has a rivalry with the Minnesota Vikings and Chicago Bears.

*** EDIT 28/01/2011 *** Watch Madden '92 predict the result of Super Bowl XLV between the Green Bay Packers and Pittsburgh Steelers First half: www.youtube.com Second half: www.youtube.com *** EDIT 14/06/2010 *** EA used a snippet of this video in the Madden 11 segment of their E3 2010 keynote press conference! More to follow. This is something I've been meaning to do and upload onto YouTube for a while now. It is a few recorded clips of the ambulance from Madden 92 on the MegaDrive (or Genesis for US viewers) that comes on when a player is injured. However, due to some bad programming the players who are not injured do not move out of the way of the ambulance and are mowed down... but get up to continue playing. Nostalgic fun! *** EDIT *** 7th Oct 2008 *** EDIT *** I've added in annotations of the teams playing in this video. If anyone could help with the possible players I will add them in too. I have only put in the names of the teams as they are in the game, hence no Eagles, Packers or Giants noted to keep this in line with the original game.

Dave Toub (Bears special teams coordinator) designed a trick play where Hester when to one side of the field during a punt return and Johnny Knox when to the other side where the ball was. While everyone was focusing on Hester, Knox catches the punt and ran it back for a touchdown, but the touchdown was nullified because of a holding penalty. I do not own or claim to own anything used in this video. It belongs to its rightful owner. The NFL owns this video along with FOX

It's amazing that none of the referees saw or called this last-play-of-the-game facemask penalty by the defensive player "tackling" Green Bay QB Aaron Rodgers. He was basically taken to the ground while the defender was still hanging onto his facemask. I understand how this happens. It's overtime and the game has run long. The referees are undoubtedly missing their guide dogs and unfocused. 1-10-10
