A dirty C44-9W is on the point of this stack train past Fenton, Illinois. This is the first container train that I've seen on the Barstow sub. I was talking to a BNSF conductor a few weeks ago who said that there is more stack traffic going through Galesburg and then towards Chicago while the track work is being completed on the Aurora sub. 2.57 min. | 5.0 user rating		 This is the same train caught earlier on the Barstow sub (more out that later) but now at Fenton, further south. I've put this together specifically to get a slow look at that crane at the back of the train. Most of the train has been edited out and there is 20 seconds of "stop-action" to get a better look at the crane. Also, this is a "toward the sun" shot that I normally try to avoid. To give some idea how slowly the trains can move on the Barstow sub. I drove 18 miles here, to Fenton after videoing this same train near Hillsdale, Illinois. Caught up to it and paced it for about a mile between Hillsdale and Erie. Speed was 30 mph. Next, I stopped in Erie for a bathroom break and to buy something to drink at the Casey's General Store. Continuing on to Fenton, I was able to get set up and still have a couple of minutes to wait before the train made its appearance. That big curve at Denrock really slows the trains.
