The attempted demolition of over 100 sticks of VERY old dynamite from an old railroad lined root cellar in Montello Nevada did not go as planned. More than a case of dynamite was found locked in an old metal box in a root cellar in Montello Nevada Oct. 11 2008. The NDF and Elko County Bomb Squad decided to explode the dynamite in place in the cellar. The Blast sent dirt, rocks, sand, and old railroad ties like torpedoes hundreds of feet into the air and over several city blocks. The railroad ties were propelled like tooth picks through the roof of a new modular home, old school bus, and many other locations. The explosion also took out phone and power lines, broke windows, and damaged a carport and other buildings while covering several city blocks with a thick layer of sand and dust. The dynamite blast could be seen for more than 40 miles.

The cowboy's job has always been dangerous, lonely, dusty, gory and low-paying. So why do cowboys make music, and why do they need to tell their story? "Why the Cowboy Sings" is a journey across the open West to explore this unique genre of folk art. Co-producer Hal Cannon has been chasing this question for 30 years. He is a founder of the Cowboy Poetry Gathering in Elko, Nevada and has played cowboy music in a traditional band since the early 1970s. In this journey he travels to four ranches, in the middle of winter, to visit cowboys during a season when they have more time to sing.

Laura Handziuk Is Hangin' Out at the Swimming Pool Outside of Reno Nevada USA in a town called Elko where we stayed the night. I thought i should tell you that i tooken Swimming lessons when i was little for about 2-3 years where i was level 2-3 (which was the color Maroon/Blue) After that I had thought myself as i was not able to get into swimming lessons where i moved in my area. I also attended a disabled swimming club once and i enjoyed it very much but unfortally there wasn't enough people to attend the class that they were unable to start another one up. I also attend an excerise Class in the swimming pool once a week. This is My Other Activity I like to do. I would like to say a special thank-you to my dad Roy Handziuk for filming me on this video and I hope all of you will enjoy it. Laura Handziuk (Quadracer687)
