Conneaut (c-eniconˈkɒni.ɔːt) is a city in Ashtabula County, Ohio, United States, along Lake Erie at the mouth of Conneaut Creek, which is the number one steelhead trout stream in the country. The population was 12,734 at the 2000 census.

Our 11th year presenting the largest and most realistic recreation of the beach landings and airborne operations held in the US, D-Day Conneaut is a free event for participants as well as spectators. In 2009, over 5000 spectators enjoyed over 300 reenactors portraying simulated battles as they may have occurred on June 6th. 2009 was also the first year that the new "Battle of the Bridge" was recreated featuring allied airborne versus inland axis troops. The second part of the reenactment was our annual "Invasion" which took place later in the day under beautiful cloudless skies. Expanding to a second day now, the event begins on Friday which features our new engagement named "The Road to Victory" featuring French Resistance, Allied Airborne and their German adversaries. Also featured this year is an airborne themed challenge coin to compliment the Invasion themed coin minted in 09. Both are a must have for the military collector. I hope you enjoy the video. I heard about this event through The Market Place Gazette and just had to go to Conneaut and check it out. I love watching this kind of stuff from the living room on the History Channel, but I'll never pass up a front row seat to guns, fighter planes, and explosions in the real world. I'm assuming this event has taken place for several years and will occur again next year. Totally worth checking out. And The White Turkey Drive-In is on the way if you're coming from Erie, which is a total bonus if you're trying to eat like a king.
