Walt, young financial consultant living in Washoe County Nevada is a lifelong republican who voted for Bush in 2000 and 2004 and is now an active supporter of Obama. He sees the recent Republican fiscal irresponsibility through the eyes of one who understands business. His clarity about the hot-button issues of Yucca Mtn. nuclear dump site, Obama's green energy plan and the economy are nothing less than inspiring.

It's time for the tour, of Kendyl Depoali Middle School, in the South Meadows of Reno, Nevada. This school will serve over 1400 students, in 62 classrooms, 187343 square feet, at a cost of $210 each, is $39342030, one of the lowest cost public construction projects in the region. It's a "green building", the building is a teaching tool, with heat generated from 373 heating wells, 95 miles of data wire, and there were 250 people employed during construction. "As one of the critics of this project, for a variety of reasons, I can tell you it has fulfilled many expectations", says Todd Taxpayer. "Mark Stanton and the Capital Projects team, congratulations on a job well done, you've had your hands full and you've done an outstanding job keeping up with the demands that taxpayers have put on your department. Thank You!" TheCommittee@FixWashoeSchools.com is currently following the Revitalization and the Capital Allocations to schools over 20 years old Washoe County School District, until the inequities the district has identified are resolved. The Washoe County Dem Convention was held Feb 23, 2008. As a delegate for Barack Obama, I had an enjoyable time and together with my fellow delegates, made Barack Obama an overwhelming winner with 972 delegates over Clinton's 683 final count. Not only did we gain a majority of the Edward's delegates but even some of the Hilary delegates as well (some didn't even show up!) giving Barack 329 delegates to the State convention compared to Hils 232. Like so many others, I hope to again represent Senator Obama at the State Convention in April. It was an interesting experience and very glad to have been a part of it. Some of the people in the video with me are Michael LeBlanc Kiserow who plans to run for assembly and a member of the Stonewall Democrats. His partner stayed home to care for their triplets. Brent Busboom is a friend from High School, a High School English teacher and a Precinct Captain for the Obama Campaign and volunteer for the Democratic party. We met some terrific UNR students (featured) and of course you'll recognize speakers Harry Reid, Jill Derby and Sheila Leslie. I guess I should have added, there were 2000 people in attendance and the venue was moved 3 times to accomodate our numbers, ending up at the Downtown Convention Center. Thank goodness OUR County Dems were prepared and it all went fairly smoothly. :)
