WQEW (1560 kHz) is a Radio Disney affiliate licensed to New York City. Its transmitter is located in Maspeth, Queens. WQEW has a transmitter power of 50,000 watts and is listed as a Clear-channel station. On some nights, WQEW can be picked up loud and clear as far West as Cleveland, Ohio, where it out performs WWMK AM 1260 in its distance areas, and as far North as Ottawa, Canada.

In November 1994, while I was working at WQEW-AM, a producer at Jon Stewart's syndicated show was looking for a disc jockey to come on the program and play records on a Victrola. I seemed to be the logical choice. BTW, I have not aged that much in sixteen years, just stopped coloring my hair.

Trans Atlantic MW DX Received In Scotland with Perseus SDR and KAZ Antenna 15th January 2012 Conditions on the MW band were pretty good this morning...and signals were allot better than they have been in the last few weeks .. i wonder if the -9c last night had something to do with it?
