Tyrol ( ) is a state or Bundesland, located in the west of Austria. It comprises the Austrian part of the historical region of Tyrol.

The state is split into two parts � called North Tyrol and East Tyrol � by a 20 km -wide strip of land where the state of Salzburg borders directly on the Italian Province of Bolzano-Bozen (Alto Adige/South Tyrol).

North Tyrol borders Bavaria (Germany) in the north, the state of Vorarlberg in the west, Italy and Switzerland in the south and Salzburg in the east. East Tyrol also borders Carinthia in the east.

The highest mountain in the state is the Großglockner in the Hohe Tauern, with an elevation of 3,798 m (12,461 ft.). This is second only to the highest mountain of South Tyrol, the Ortler, 3,905 m (12,812 ft.).

The capital is Innsbruck. The city is known for its university, especially in medicine. Tyrol is popular for its famous ski resorts, which include Kitzbühel, Ischgl and St. Anton. Other larger towns are Kufstein, Schwaz, Reutte and Landeck.

"Touch Go Training" Innsbruck is the capital city of the federal state of Tyrol in western Austria. It is located in the Inn Valley at the junction with the Wipptal (Sill River), which provides access to the Brenner Pass, some 30 kilometers (19 mi) south of Innsbruck. Located in the broad valley between high mountains, the Nordkette (Hafelekar, 2334 meters (7657 ft)) in the north, Patscherkofel (2246 meters (7369 ft)) and Serles (2718 meters (8917 ft)) in the south, it is an internationally renowned winter sports centre, and hosted the 1964 and 1976 Winter Olympics. Before that I wrote letters, and got involved in discussions and started discussions. In 2006 I was employed by the VGT as campaign organiser for the Kleider Bauer campaign in Tyrol. We held demos there and sometimes did run-ins. My main responsibility was coordinating and running the demos -- and of course, registering them with the authorities. The first observation report about me is dated July 2007. This means that from that point in time (apparently) I was being observed by plain-clothed police. This is possibly still the case - we just don't know. This whole repression led to the police raids on our houses on 21st May 2008. It was on this day, at six in the morning that eight armed officers stormed into our home. In the house where I live with my wife and our three children. All the rooms were turned upside down and our things were thrown around and taken away. We still don't know today whether we will get our belongings back. It was absolute chaos. They carried our possessions away box after box -- also breaking some things in the process. This day ended up with me -- after the five-and-a-half hour house search where I was handcuffed to the table -- being arrested and put into prison for three months. While I was in prison I was only able to see my wife and children once every two weeks. And now -- since 2nd March 2010 -- the trial has been running. Thirteen animal <b>...</b>
