Royston is a town and civil parish in the District of North Hertfordshire and county of Hertfordshire in England. The current Mayor from 2011/2012 is Councillor Robert Inwood. It is situated slightly west of the Greenwich Meridian, and at the northernmost apex of the county on the same latitude of towns such as Milton Keynes and Felixstowe. It is located some 43 mi (69.2 km) north of central London in a highly rural area of the county. Before the boundary changes of the 1890s, the boundary between Hertfordshire and Cambridgeshire ran along the middle of Melbourn Street. The town has a population of 14,570.

This is another part of a test video of my Canon ivis HV20 camcorder. As with my previous 'Morris Eight' video, this footage was recorded with the camera in standard DV mode but with the 'cinemode 25p' selected. I decided to use it in standard definition as my pc struggles with full HD plus internet upload speeds vary from ok to snail's pace. Very pleased at the quality even in standard DV mode. Much better than my old Sony Digicam DCR TRV240E. The video was recorded at Therfield and Fox Covert reserves near Royston, Hertfordshire, UK. Bit of a typo in the opening credits as I've put Foxton when it should have been 'Fox' The area is quite hilly as the geology is chalk and clay. Not far from here is the Weston Hills road tunnel which I will be filming soon. Not sure who left the sunglasses on the tree at the end but I'm sure the tree must feel the coolest thing in the wood. The old varnish was acting as a smoke screen, obscuring the wonderful colours contained within the floor, giving the floor a continually dirty appearance. Our first task was to remove the shellac varnish from the Victorian floor tiles with our Eco-friendly stripper containing natural plant extracts. Then came the thorough deep cleaning of the floor. The finish applied to the floor is a hard wearing breathable satin gloss exclusive to Carr Restoration, which as you see really brings out the natural clay colours. Now the floor not only looks superb but is also very easy to maintain.
