Velasquez staged a solo concert at Carnegie Hall, part of Carnegie Hall's centennial-year concert series. In 2000, she performed the country's millennial theme, "Written in the Sand" was beamed to 67 major broadcast networks in Asia, Europe, North America, South America, Australia, and Africa - reaching more than a billion people. The first to view the broadcast were the people of the Kiribati Islands in Fiji, and the song crossed 24 time zones, culminating in the Samoa Islands. She has also embarked on several television and film projects, receiving a Best Actress Award for her portrayal of a mentally challenged woman in Maalaala Mo Kaya.,, Velasquez also formed IndiMusic (iMusic), a record label partnered with Bella Tan's Universal Records., She is currently managed by Aria Productions. |
