Pablo Diego José Francisco de Paula Juan Nepomuceno María de los Remedios Cipriano de la Santísima Trinidad Ruiz y Picasso known as Pablo Ruiz Picasso (-esˈpaβlo ˈrwiθ piˈkaso; 25 October 1881 8 April 1973) was a Spanish painter, draughtsman, and sculptor who lived most of his life in France. He is widely known for co-founding the Cubist movement and for the wide variety of styles that he helped develop and explore. Among his most famous works are the proto-Cubist Les Demoiselles d'Avignon (1907) and Guernica (1937), a portrayal of the German bombing of Guernica during the Spanish Civil War.

Picasso demonstrated extraordinary artistic talent in his early years, painting in a realistic manner through his childhood and adolescence; during the first decade of the 20th century his style changed as he experimented with different theories, techniques, and ideas. His revolutionary artistic accomplishments brought him universal renown and immense fortune, making him one of the best-known figures in 20th century art.

Pablo Picasso : Guernica is a painting by Pablo Picasso, inspired by Picasso's horror at the Nazi German bombing of Gernika, Spain on April 26, 1937 during the Spanish Civil War. The air raid destroyed the city, killing an estimated 1600 people and injuring many more. The huge mural was produced under a commission by the Spanish Republican government to decorate the Spanish Pavilion at the Paris International Exposition (the 1937 World's Fair in Paris). Picasso said as he worked on the mural: Guernica (painting) The Spanish struggle is the fight of reaction against the people, against freedom. My whole life as an artist has been nothing more than a continuous struggle against reaction and the death of art. How could anybody think for a moment that I could be in agreement with reaction and death? ... In the panel on which I am working, which I shall call Guernica, and in all my recent works of art, I clearly express my abhorrence of the military caste which has sunk Spain in

This OVATION original documentary follows his life, beginning with his Depression-era days working for the WPA through the optimism and Cold War paranoia that laced the 1950s. Pollock's relationships with both Ernest Hemingway and Pablo Picasso are explored. Archival footage, including Hans Namuth's famous cinematic rendering of the artist at work, is coupled with archival photos of Pollock's time, when atom bombs stunned the world, Kerouac addressed the Beat Generation and jazz permeated the airwaves. This is not a praise of bullfighting. This is an homage to the beautiful song and voice of Francis Cabrel and to the intense art works of excellent artists worlwide, who happened to be fascinated and inspired by the same bullfighting theme. La Corrida. One thing to be remembered: this art sequence is not intended to show the suffering of an animal that has to face a simply and plainly uneven confrontation. Because this bull is introduced...moves elegantly and powerfully across the arena...fights strenuously till the end...but cannot be seen beaten. In fact, this bull DOESN'T die. As should happen in the absence of natural reasons for it. If it's a game, it's a game for both. Back to the artists, among them are painters, photographers and fashion designers.
