www.crainsnewyork.com Playlist of all my coverage of the protest.... www.youtube.com www.youtube.com Above a link to me interviewing Norman Siegel on eminent domain abuse at the protest at Columbia University. www.youtube.com Norman Siegel speaking at protest rally Columbia U. www.youtube.com One of my favorite interviews and it is with Francyn and all in Spanish but you don't need a translator. www.dddb.net www.willetspoint.org developdontdestroy.org I interview Norman Siegel on the fact NYU and The Villager turned away a handicap gentleman, the press including NY1 and many seniors that stood patiently on line. Mysteriously Christine Quinn's supporters all made it to the front of the line! YouTube not mine "The Illusion of Democracy" www.youtube.com Note: I have never met an NYU student at a protest to fight NYU's community crushing development. I have never heard an NYU student say not in our name. Many of you know I lived next to St. Ann's from 1847 that survived everything but NYU's need and greed to build yet another mega dorm 120 East 12th Street. The USPS sold the air rights to NYU but the USPS never notified the State of NY as legally required because just like blocking the fire hydrant in front of my now ex-building, the USPS was confident they are above the law. www.1010wins.com www.nydailynews.com www.nydailynews.com

Adam Clayton Powell represents the 68th Assembly District in the New York State Assembly which includes parts of Harlem and East Harlem. First elected to the Assembly in 2000, he sits on four committees: Housing, Insurance, Small Business, and Corporations, Authorities and Commissions. He is also the Chairman of the Legislative Commission on Government Administration. He passed the law known as SCRIE (Senior Citizen Rent Increase Exemption) which exempts seniors from paying any rent increases if their income is under $29000/yr and more than 30% of that goes to rent. From 1992-1997, Powell served as a New York City Council Member representing East Harlem and parts of the Upper West Side and the South Bronx. He helped raise the standard of education by ensuring that every public school building in his district was equipped with state-of-the-art computer labs. Through his efforts to bring the Magic Johnson Theaters to some of New York's most blighted areas, Powell has helped to create new job opportunities and economic development. Powell has also employed his organizational skills and leadership abilities for the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) helping to bring order and hope to communities decimated by natural disasters. As a public servant, Adam has been on the front lines battling for us; even going to jail to defend the principles of human rights for the people of the island of Vieques. For an exhaustive 11 years, Adam, with deep personal conviction and ...

In 2002 New Jersey was one of the first states to address the issue of bullying. Now the Garden State is leaping to the forefront again, with a proposed new law that supporters say would be the nation's toughest. In the wake of a string of high profile suicides linked to bullying, including Rutger's University student Tyler Clementi's fatal leap from the George Washington Bridge, pressure is mounting to confront the problem. Now, in New Jersey, activists and legislators have proposed strong new tools to help fight back against bullying. At a news conference today supporters (including a bipartisan group of New Jersey state legislators) unveiled their proposed 'Anti-Bullying Bill of Rights.' Among the bill's sponsors is Senate Majority Leader Barbara Buono (D-Middlesex) who told reporters "this legislation will create a standardized way to identify and investigate incidents of bullying." Also at today's news conference was Stella Serpa who told reporters she bullied as a child, "I can attest to the emotional toll the physical toll sometimes that it takes on a person their spirit and their self esteem." According to a factsheet from Garden State Equality, among other elements the proposed New Jersey anti-bullying legislation includes: setting "deadlines for incidents of bullying to be reported, investigated and resolved. Teachers and other school personnel will have to report incidents of bullying to principals on the same day as the incidents. Principals will have to ...
