Michael Hamlin (born November 21, 1985 in Lamar, South Carolina) is an American football safety who is currently on the practice squad of the Jacksonville Jaguars. He was drafted by the Dallas Cowboys in the fifth round of the 2009 NFL Draft. He played college football at Clemson.

Woodson's departure led to serious exposure of the weaknesses of Roy Williams who regressed unlike any player I recall in recent memory. Williams' lack of coverage ability was exploited on numerous occasions by our NFC East rivals and clever OC's the past couple of seasons. Currently we have Ken Hamlin and a bunch of nobodies. Hamlin one would think would be suited better for the SS role but Cowboys brass has indicated he isn't moving anywhere. Keith Davis is a decent backup and a special teams maven but certainly not starting material. I feel that strong safety is among the biggest needs on the team. There are quality players that can be had rounds 2-4 that may be able to provide the answer. Most of the top safeties with the exception of perhaps Louis Delmas will be available come pick 51. Do we make a move early? I say no. The top players will be Will Moore and Rashad Johnson. Although solid players, I dont see them being significantly better than players that can be had a round or two later. My plan would be to go with a nose tackle type or defensive lineman at pick 51 and roll the dice that a Patrick Chung or Michael Hamlin will be around in the third round. Another option would be to hold off even longer and perhaps eye David Bruton, Chris Clemons, or Chip Vaughn come the fourth round. The Ten Pieces are intended for two manuals, with music printed on two staves and thus well-suited to the reed organ. The Offertoire is the only piece in the set with an obligatory pedal part, supplied here by use of a Pedal Point mechanism (which holds down any notes in the lowest octave), controlled by a lever between the player's knees. The melody on the upper manual uses a 16' Clarinet and a beater-type Tremulant; the lower manual uses only the foundation 8' rank. The Communion is in G-flat major, and uses the Pedal Point at the very end. The instrument is a superb two-manual, foot-pumped Mason & Hamlin "Liszt" organ, made in Boston in the 1880s, restored over the last few years by its owner, a Pennsylvania organ-builder. Recorded 18 October 2009 in St. Mark's United Church of Christ, Lebanon, PA, in preparation for a recital sponsored by the Reed Organ Society.

The Berceuse specifies the use of "thumbing down"--the only instance I know in reed organ repertoire--where one musical line is played on the lower manual while the melody is played on the upper manual. Starting at 2:25 (the re-introduction of the main theme) through the end of the piece, the sustained alto notes are played by the thumb of the right hand on the lower manual, while the melody and counterpoint are played on the upper manual. Thus the right hand is playing both keyboards at once--sorry you can't see it in the video! The Song without Words uses the Vox Humana (a revolving fan tremolo); you can see its reflection inside the upper lid of the organ case. I suspect the composer saw Mason & Hamlin's two-manual reed organs at the 1867 Paris Exposition; this set of six pieces was published in that year and were "written expressly for the ravishing instruments of Messrs. Mason & Hamlin." The Instrument used here is a superb two-manual, foot-pumped Mason & Hamlin "Liszt" organ, made in Boston in the 1880s, restored over the last few years by its owner, a Pennsylvania organ-builder.
