La Crescent is a city in Houston and Winona counties in the U.S. state of Minnesota. The population was 4,830 at the 2010 census.

La Crescent is known as the "Apple Capital of Minnesota" because John S. Harris planted the first apple trees in the midwest here.

3.27 min. | 5.0 user rating		 Representative Ken Tschumper, Senator Sharon Erickson-Ropes, and Franny Franken led the Minnesota DFL marchers in the La Crescent AppleFest Parade, Sunday Sept 21st, 2008. Our local community came out in force, to join with friends and neighbors to walk in the Applefest Parade, in support of Families, our Community, our State, and our Nation- and the candidates who are helping to bring about REAL CHANGE FOR EVERYONE. Not just the corporate elite! My son filmed this brief video. Many of our friends and neighbors told us after the parade that the DFL marchers were one of the larger and louder groups (certainly more folks showed up for the DFL than for the other side) and that many people were clapping and chanting in support as we went by. We had a broad range of marchers- I think the youngest was 4 or 5, and I walked for a while with a grand-dad, who kept telling people "if I can do it, so can you!" It was a great time- and I hope everyone turns out at the polls this year, and votes in support of the full DFL ticket. Yes, WE CAN!!
