Justin Verlander, a pitcher for the Detroit Tigers Major League Baseball (MBA) team teaches the overhead med ball throw training exercise to high school and college (NCAA) athletes. ""The No-Hitter I threw last year, I was so incredibly nervous, it was the ninth then and I had two outs and two strikes on the guy and I threw a hanging breaking ball and I fell it off and I actually had to step off the back until I come down you know, just calm myself down and take one more pitch and sort of __on a curve ball but I pop it out thankfully. It?s one of the same __ trying not to think about it you know, I just go out there and not trying to do more than what I could do, just go out there and pitch my game. And it was an exiting moment for me, you know, its one of the best ones of my life once it?s over, but you know I was going Overhead Med Ball Throwing.""

Justin Verlander, a pitcher for the Detroit Tigers Major League Baseball (MBA) team and his training coach Javair Gillett teach the physioball reverse hypers exercise. ""Well, the important thing on that exercise is you have to keep your hips on the ball. It?s not like your hips are off the ball, and you got to work on squeezing your butt. And it?s not a lower back let?s-try-to-get-the-lower-back-working. It?s let?s- squeeze-the-butt-and-get-to-the-range-of-motion-of-your-straight-line, all right? You?re straight. It?s not hyperextended where your feet go over your body. When your feet go over your body, you?re using the hamstrings a little much. You got to keep yourself straight and try to relax the hamstrings and just use your butt. Keep your legs perfectly straight and squeeze the butt and just get to a straight stiff board.""

Justin Verlander, a pitcher for the Detroit Tigers Major League Baseball (MBA) team gives high school and college (NCAA) athletes advice on throwing no hitters. ?The Overhead Med-Ball Throw is really just a modification to a lot of power lifting exercises, Olympic lifting exercises that you know, maybe football players would do but you know, essentially its just to improve explosive power through the hips and its just using some resistance, and its speed and exposedness, we are looking for a fast direct, so its not heavy, heavy weight. It?sa lighter weight that you can move very, very quickly. And you just throw it up, we try to go straight up and the ball would naturally just threw them in any direction that it?s going where its not going behind you but in nowhere we try to throw it far back behind as more straight up and then you better look up and get out of the way. But you want to get straight up and get your hips, your knees, and your ankles all extending at the same time and driving through the ground. The power throws, I like that because you really incorporate you whole body in that you know, especially your legs and your core, you know living up your body it was for me legs and core are the two great things there are and that exercise is really harsh on those. For those power movements, to those speedy, speedy explosive movements where usually do about six or up.?
