|
Each of the 236 members of the General Assembly serve for two year terms and are directly elected by their districts. The Georgia State Constitution vests all legislative power with the General Assembly. Both houses have similar powers, though each also has unique duties. For instance, the origination of appropriation bills occurs only in the House and the Senate is tasked with confirmation of the Governor's appointments. The General Assembly meets in the Georgia State Capitol in Atlanta, Georgia. |
