As a teenager, he was signed to Master P's No Limit Records until 2005, he then left No Limit, still remaining a close bond to Master P & several label mates. For a while he thought about quitting rap until he met Lil Wayne. He then he signed with Lil Wayne's Young Money Entertainment, where he remained until late 2007. While still at Young Money, Curren$y created Fly Society with skateboarder Terry Kennedy, first as a clothing company, then expanding to release music, After he left Young Money due to the lack of promotion & etc, he gave Fly Society away to TK to form Jets International & to take his musical career into his own hands. After releasing a series of mixtapes on a month by month basis, he released his debut solo album, This Ain't No Mixtape , through Amalgam Digital, in 2009. Curren$y continues to release music through Amalgam Digital. Curren$y's latest album release is entitled Jet Files. In 2009 Curren$y while working with Damon Dash at DD172. Curren$y is also a part of a Hip-Hop supergroup with rappers Mos Def , Jay Electronica and Stalley called Center Edge Territory.. The Album Jet Files serves as a prelude to an upcoming album, "In The Grand Scheme Of Things." He currently has another album on the way called "Pilot Talk" which will be released on Roc-A-Fella. __NOTOC__ |
